Joan Musgrave was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and studied at Belfast College of Art and Homsea Art College, London. While living in Zambia she worked on projects for the Livingstone Museum and the Wild Life Conservation Society of Zambia. She lived in Edinburgh for 20 years, and taught and exhibited her work in local galleries.  She lives in Jerusalem.
