Dalalh

The siege on the Gaza Strip forced Palestinian visual artist Ayman Issa to be absent from the opening of "DALALH", an exhibition of his works that took place on Wednesday, August 19,2009, at Al-Mahatta Gallery in Ramallah. The exhibition included paintings on women's inherited femininity, their bodies emitting vibrant colors, some of which appear in full figure. In a second section Issa uses everyday news from newspapers to draw with bold black lines personalities that relate to the background news. In a third section, he paints many small-size portraits. In Dalalh, Issa was trying to highlight the beauty of Palestinian women amid the siege and destruction. Issa has not been able to visit the West Bank since he graduated from the School of Fine Arts at An-Najah University in Nablus in 1999. He participated in a number of group and solo exhibitions since his graduation.
