Kayan
KAYAN (=Entity) a group sculpture exhibition that attempts to adopt space as a necessary equivalent in structured forms, thus calling for a vague entity, that comes into being not in the tangible part of the sculpture, but in the hidden extension of the work. From here comes KAYAN as a search for a different, parallel entity, which forms in the moment when the material potential is absent yet not denied.
In KAYAN sculptures explore its clear and vague structure which manifest in an ambiguous form that cannot be distinguished whether on the verge of being or on the brink of collapse. This merger of two contradictory entities, exposes when intersected, a deferred, absent, and possible entity.
The sculptures at KAYAN exhibition are looking for an entity of their own, and in this attempt, they discover that this openness to the possibility of form is their true entity imprisoned in their permanent mobility in space.
